Todd and Song Godwin, married for 34 years in August, have attended TRUTH Church since its inception almost 8 years ago. Todd became a Christian in grade school but recommitted his life to the Lord in his 20’s.  Song accepted Jesus in her teens and recommitted her life to Him in her 20’s also.

For 21 years, the Godwins operated an outpatient treatment for court-ordered clientele (dealing with substance abuse, mental health and/or domestic violence) by educating and counseling them. They are both now working in the field of addiction, especially involving Fentanyl/Amphetamines/Methamphetamines.

In the past, Todd taught Sunday School for 10 years and Song served in Women’s Ministry, leading Bible studies and home fellowships. But in recent years the Lord has called them to serve together as husband and wife. They are currently blessing 6-12 year-olds in Children’s Ministry where they have happily served for about two years (Please refer to the Children’s Ministry blog to read more about their involvement).

Todd and Song are excited about serving the Body of Christ at TC through coordinating activities to bring people together to engage in conversation, get connected and know others in a more intimate way.  That will hopefully lead to more people feeling encouraged and supported in the church.

I can personally testify that the July 3rd church picnic at Clement Park was a huge success, thanks to Todd and Song’s planning and preparation.  The fellowship was sweet and it was a treat eating together.  Watching married couples and single people having fun playing volleyball was hilarious!  I got to know several people better by visiting in a relaxed, uninterrupted setting.

The next event this summer is Faith Day at the Rockies on August 20th, for those who enjoy baseball or hanging out with other believers.  Christian artists will perform after the baseball game.  Watch your emails for more information as the date gets closer.

A huge thank-you to Todd and Song for blessing our church family in their new role of Activities Coordinators.  They are so loving and kind and always make people feel special.  Please pray for them as they seek more opportunities to bring us all together by planning fun events.
